How to separate anddispose of the waste by material and recycle it.

 

 One day, the Administrative Welfare Center introduced the Village Vision School and recommended participation.

 

 The Village Vision School was a program where participants could become part of a village planning team, learn about the village over three sessions, discover the village agenda, select it, and plan its implementation.

 

 

 

 

The program was conducted through facilitation, where I proposed the agenda based on my experience in village environment maintenance.

 

What is "facilitation"?: Facilitation is the process of guiding a meeting's participants through a predetermined procedure to elicit their ideas and reach conclusions, thereby achieving the meeting's objectives in an organized manner.

 

 

For example, I suggested, "To resolve conflicts among residents caused by foreigners' indiscriminate disposal of garbage, 'garbage disposal education for foreigners' should be conducted, " followed by "the creation of garbage disposal manuals in English and a second language for foreigners."

 

 

 

Making English and second language instructions on how to dispose of garbage for foreigners

: Currently, there are many cases where foreigners do not know how to discharge waste. In particular, the guidelines for dispose of waste and recycling waste collection for non-English speaking foreigners who are not good at Korean are not made in foreign languages except English. Therefore, not only English but also Chinese and Vietnamese are the most common nationalities among foreigners living in the region, so it is necessary to produce Chinese and Vietnamese together. In order to solve the residents' conflict caused by the indiscriminate discharge of garbage by foreigners, I would like to conduct "waste disposal education for foreigners."

: In the multicultural era, there are many foreigners living in our village, and among them, more and more people are dumping garbage indiscriminately and illegally. In particular, there are cases where foreigners living in Korea do not separate recyclables, so even in Korea, they often throw away food waste and recyclables at once without classifying them.

 

 

 

 Those who had worked with me on village environment maintenance supported me, enabling me to actively participate and propose ideas until the end. As the representative of my group, I presented the village agenda we had identified and proposed, further explaining it to members of other groups and gaining their trust and empathy through a Q&A session.

 

 

 

 I was able to clearly identify the inconveniences faced during the vague process of village environment maintenance as problems, and subsequently devise and organize solutions.

 

 Therefore, in the future, I could create a card-based board game and conduct training sessions on waste disposal for foreigners, or even propose it to an online policy participation platform run by local government.
